Six Week High School Study — Virtual
Who Am I? What Am I Called To?
It is clear that there is much confusion about the body in today’s world! The Theology of the Body, laid out in 1979 over weekly audiences by Pope John Paul II, is the Holy Spirit’s answer to today’s confusion regarding the body and sins against the body which are prevalent in our culture today. (abortion, contraception, gender dysphoria, etc.)

A 6 session study of what it means to be a human person made in the image and likeness of God. This study will be based on the writings of John Paul II’s Man and Women He Created Them, other Church documents and encyclicals, Scripture, and writings of the Saints.

Students entering 9th grade and up. Parents are welcome to join in as well! Readings and assignments for homeschool students taking the course for high school credit will be sent out ahead of the class.

The Spring 2023 sessions will be Wednesday evenings 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8/ 3/15. 7:00-8:30pm EST.
Sessions will be recorded.

Students will ponder the questions “Who am I?” and “What am I called to?”
Students will understand the three original states of man.
Students will understand the characteristics of historical man, and relate them to our struggles today.
Students will understand the qualities of eschatological man, and the hope of the redemption of the body.
Students will examine the sacrament of marriage, the vows and a proper understanding of Ephesians 5.
Students will refute a heresy against the body or current cultural narrative using concepts learned in this study.

Come learn what it means to be a human person, made in the image and likeness of God, and how the Theology of the Body is the Holy Spirit’s gift to the Church to answer the confusion about the body found in our culture today.

Up to one hour talk on the sanctity of human life, supported with Scripture and basic, gentle TOB concepts.

Appropriate for younger middle school and teen audiences.

Students will walk away with an appreciation for their uniqueness as a human person, and practical ideas for how they can demonstrate respect for life in small ways in their everyday lives.
